From Fashion to Follicles — Our True Body Journey
True Body began with a passion for embracing every curve and celebrating the unique beauty of all women. Originally a body-positive fashion brand, where our slogan was, “it’s not about the size you wear, but how you wear your size.” It was a personal journey born from my own struggles with self-image and the challenges of finding quality, inclusive fashion.
Over time, I realized that true confidence runs deeper than clothes and starts at the very root of our being. For many of us, that means caring for our hair—our crown, our identity, our pride. As someone who has experienced alopecia areata since childhood, I know the heartbreak of hair loss and the joy of regrowth. While I live with permanent bald spots, I’ve also witnessed firsthand how powerful natural ingredients can be in reviving and strengthening new growth. That personal truth has inspired me to transform True Body into a natural hair and self-care line specifically designed for people of color; for all ages and genders!
